BHS Ride Safe Training
Riding horses away from the yard can be a dangerous activity but it is something that most of us who own horses need to do. It is therefore worthwhile to educate ourselves in how to ride safely on the roads, along rights of way, across agricultural land, on the beach and warming up at competitions so the risks to ourselves, our horses and others can be minimised.
The British Horse Society (BHS) Ride Safe qualification gives practical advice, tips and guidance. Equestrian Learning, in partnership with Rockstar Equitation Centre (REC) of Penkridge, Staffordshire ST9 5SA is now providing training for the Ride Safe qualification. Full details about the training and assessment can be found here (opens in new window).
To arrange Ride Safe training please contact Steve on 07796 268003
The next Ride Safe Assessment @ REC is Saturday 31st March
PLEASE NOTE THAT IF THERE ARE INSUFFICIENT CANDIDATES ENTERED FOR THE BHS RIDE SAFE ASSESSMENT 2 WEEKS BEFORE THE ASSESSMENT DATE THE BHS HAVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THE ASSESSMENT. THIS IS BEYOND OUR CONTROL.
Each training session includes theory and practical time with the horses. Candidates must therefore come fully prepared and equipped to ride with a riding hat to current standards. In addition a few hours of private study will be required. It is important to have the current edition of the BHS Ride Safe workbook before attending a course.
